LA OPENS MORE JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE YOUTH

LA, one of the commercial hubs for many businesses in the Greater Accra Region with the help of its Traditional Council opens great employment opportunities for the youth in La to reduce the unemployment rate in the town. 

LA, being one of the commercial towns in the Greater Accra Region has been a domicile for some of the great companies in Ghana having the best relationship with all of them. These companies as part of their corporate social responsibility have also contributed to the development of the town. 

Speaking with B&LG, some of the residence finds these businesses useful and beneficial in the town as it reduces the pains of travelling long distances to enjoy such quality services. Companies such as La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, La Pleasure Beach Hotel, Artist Alliance Gallery, La Community Bank, Zenith University College, Ghana International Trade Fair Center, Ghana Airport, Jokers, Kings Royal Atlantic Hotel, Sunshine Diagnostic Clinic, Dream Land, University Ghana Legon and many more all operates in the LA community. 

Speaking with the LA King Maker (Shikiteele) of the town, Nii Adjei Koofei IV , he said the La traditional council has networked with most of these organisations  in the community to consider the youths of the La town with a given quota anytime they are about to offer employments. Organisations such as La Palm Royal Hotel, Zenith University College, La Dade Kotopon Municipal assembly (LaDMA) etc. has been able to employ many of the youth in the town as still more are to be employed, he added. 

Nii Adjei Koofei IV revealed to B&LG, most of the youth are not willing to work, henceforth increasing the unemployment rate in the town as the traditional council are still putting in their best effort to increase the job opportunities in the town with help of the organisations in the La Community. He finally added that, the youth must be serious with their education and be humble, and if they are educated but disrespectful, it can forfeit a lot of their chances, henceforth they should aim high and never give up as the traditional council will always be there to welcome their problems at all times.
