The maiden edition of the Young CEO’S Business Summit, Accra 2015 which
was held at the British Council, Accra with the theme “Advancing Start- up
Business in Africa” brought great speakers during which young businesses
challenges were solved with new approaches for fresh opportunists.
The 3 days summit which started
at Hotels & Towers venue seeks to provide solutions to some of the
challenges young businesses face and enable them to network for better business
opportunities. The summit provided critical solutions for sustainability of
young businesses as well as engaged the youth in interactive with great
business owners in Africa.
Speaking with Rex Idaminabo, co
-founder of Young CEO’S Business Summit, Accra 2015, he said the summit was
organized to enhance the leadership and management skills as well as encourage
young people to start their own businesses as it reduces the unemployment rate
in the country. This summit has really helped a lot of young people to sustain
their businesses and achieved much in their business career, he revealed.
Speaking with Mr. OB Sinarchy,
Head of project, Young CEO'S Business Summit, Accra 2015, the programme has
encouraged a lot of young people to do something for themselves without waiting
for the government for job. He added that many of the young ones have taught of
quitting their business ambitions as this summit has really helped them to
continue the fight for freedom and success. This summit is the Ghana version as
the next summit will be held in U.K he revealed.
Mr. Steven Ojji, one of the main
speakers and a business owner enlightened young people about the risk of doing
business as CEO’S don’t take salaries but rather reinvests all their profits in
the business to expand the businesses. The only thing CEO’S take is rather dividend as there is a
greater risk involved in leaving your job to start your own business and never
quit your job to start your business because you dislike your job but rather do
it out of passion you have in the idea,
he added.
Dr. Linus Okorie, a Managing
Consultant, New Vision Consults told B&LG that most young people lacks
leadership skills and turn to see leadership as being BOSSES rather than being
a servant to your workers. Most leaders manipulate and intimidate their workers
instead of influencing and inspiring them in a positive way for them to get the
work them, he revealed.
The summit enabled all
participants to voice out their business problems to be solved by great
business owners with their high knowledge of expertise in business as online
business strategy was also made known to all participants.
Finally Mr. Allain Attasse
Gbeasor, chairman for Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs invited all young
entrepreneurs to join the alliance as it provide supports and advisory services
to all young entrepreneurs in the country. The alliance was setup by
experienced business owners and have helped to transform many young businesses
as young entrepreneurs who want to be part of the alliance can visit
