La community Strengthens Relationship with British high Commission

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency John Benjamin has paidan honourable visit to the traditional council of La in honor of the La Homowo festival. His visit brought lots of delightful lmembers of the townto welcome him with traditional dance displays.
            He paid this visit as a result of a courtesy call by the La Paramount Chief, Nii Tete Kpobi Tsuru III and the La traditional council members which coincided with the La homowo celebrations. The British High Commissioner honoured the call in order to exchange homowo greetings with the people of La through the members ofthe traditional council as indicated by the council.
            Speaking with Mr. Amarkai Amarteifio, the Legal advisor to the La stool and the Dean of the Honorary Consult of Ghana, he said the High commissioner resides on La soil at the cantonment hence he being a “tenant” of La deemed it fit to fulfill the call. 
            He revealed that, there have been many visits of that sought from the past years as the U.S ambassador, Germany ambassador and other international delegates had carried on special visits to celebrate the homowo festival with the people of La.
            Mr. Amarteifio told B&LG news that La has hosted several British institutions as cantonments have been the main area harboring them. It is only nice for us to be good neighbors with the international communities on La soil as it promotes unity in the country, he added.
He further revealed the plans of La to change the name of La Wireless Cluster of Schools to Queen Elizabeth Cluster of School as a way of acknowledging the Queen of England for her selfless support to the La community.
Speaking with the British High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr. John Benjamin, he said La has been very nice to him throughout his stay and diplomatic duties in La as he and other colleagues have been going to the La Beach Resort every weekend to relax. The town had had personal relationship with many British officials in the past as one of their governors in the early twenties called Governor Slater who had a friend among the La citizens also show great generosity to the La community.
Nii Tete Kpobi Tsuru III, La Paramount Chief finally assured British commission of a cordial relationship as the visit strengthens the bond between the two parties. His Excellency Mr. John Benjamin jovially urged La traditional council to organize a football match between La and the British High Commission workers to strongly tie the friendship between La and the British people.
