COST OF BUSINESS SWALLOWS SMALL BUSINESSES IN ACCRA

The cost of doing business in Accra has escalated, making most small businesses to relinquish in Ghana which has become a very big headache to small scale business that deals with importation of goods, rendering of service and selling of items at the Accra market. 
Speaking with Sister Martina a store keeper at the Accra Mokola market, she told BLG news that she is really sad about the direction businesses are going. “At first I use to sell about 1000.00 to 1500.00 per a day but now due to the bad economy, I sell up to 100.00 she revealed.”
Mr. Joseph a shopper also said even though there is no money in the system these days the prices of things have also increase to the extent of buying small things with huge amount of money. ”The cedi depreciation is also a factor contributing to the bad economy as government should restructure the economy for a better Ghana.
