ECG DRAINS TESHIE WITH DUMSOR

Story by; Mary Caroline Atangah
The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) with its well known “DUMSOR” has caused many companies and shops in the Teshie district to shut down due to the unstable power without any reason at the district.
The Teshie district is a small but busy town in which some sited companies and shops that depend solely on electricity to produce its product have began to shut down due to its low productivity as the companies can no longer afford to waste its resource without producing.
Speaking to BLG news, Madam Roselyn, cold store operator within Teshie complains bitterly about how her little job is going down due to the dumsor in Teshie. She said that the light is her main problem as at now the ice block that she sells to make a living is now in a mess as they only get light twice in a whole week and the rest of the days are without light. “The unstable power is a big problem to us in Teshie, she lamented”.
Speaking with Mr. Ishmael Teye Tetteh, a worker at Venus World Entertainment, he said to BLG news that the ECG has caused a huge number of layoffs in the organisation where he works. “Now our world of entertainment has come to an end as the company cannot pay for services henceforth no choice than to close down.
Madam Beatrice, owner of Jesus is sweet cold store told BLG news that all the things imported to sell in the cold store got spoilt because of the massive light off in teshie and also lost a lot of money through the dumsor. “We therefore call on ECG and respective stakeholders to come to our aid in order to restore our businesses again, she pleaded”
