A SYMPOSIUM WITH NUNGUA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ON THE THEME: ‘’LINKING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE TO THE LABOUR MARKET’’ ORGANIZED BY BUSINESS AND LABOUR GUIDE (BLG).

Assistant head of Nungua  S.H.S (Mr. Dwamena Joseph)

The linkage between Academic excellence and the Labour market is a total application of theoretical knowledge to the real life situations which will stupendously go a long way in making a great impact on youths mainly  students as they will be properly refined in their courses for  the Labour market.
The symposium organized by the business and labour guide (BLG) was basically to educate the students on how academic excellence can equally be linked to the real life world (working environment). This it’s believed would be the gateway to excellence in the business and corporate worlds.

Miss Deborah Mensah, Nungua SHS girls prefect

Speaking to Raphael Nii Bortey Tetteh, the boy’s prefect of Nungua Secondary School, he made the following observations ‘’what we are being taught in school is actually the theoretical part of learning, as students, it is left for us to go out there and practice what has been taught in the class in order to feel and experience the heat and real life situations as it will be more advantageous to us in the realm of life”.
According to Deborah Mensah, the Girls prefect of Nungua Secondary School, academic excellence in  combination with the right exposure to the Labour market would go a long way in developing and boosting the confidence of students. She advised her colleagues to be diligent in whichever trade their parents were involved in. This she said would be a platform for learning and having a hands on experience with most realities outside the classroom. She also said that, engaging in daily activities which involved  showcasing our talents and potentials  will have a long lasting effect on us.

Mr.Dwamena Joseph, Assistant Headmaster of Nungua SHS told BLG news that, without  good academic excellence; it will be difficult for someone to go out there to make impact in the society as per the labour market because one needs to be academically sound before he/she can showcase it to the real world.
Finally, I would rather advice that students should try as much as possible to take their academic work serious in order to make a positive and emulative impact in society as they should make out time probably during the holidays to venture into the Labour activities.
